As we posted before, El Asaltante is in competion at Lima Film Fest, together with two other Latinofusion films (El telón de Azúcar and Que tan lejos)
The film debut in Peru was attended by Pablo Fendrik (director) and leading actor Arturo Goetz, who is also part of the cast of La novia errante, also in competition in Lima. They both presented the film to the crowd at CCPUCP - Sala Azul.
Good news for those in Peru who are unable to attend festival screenings: the Centro Cultural PUCP
has just acquired theatrical rights for Perú for El Asaltante, so you be seeing it at local theaters any time soon.

Michael Moore has been on a hectic schedule last months since the Cannes première of “Sicko”. But all the controversy and public debates didn’t deter Moore from presiding over the third annual Traverse City Film Festival that he co-founded in the Michigan resort town where he also keeps a home.
The festival showcased a wide spectrum of documentaries, among them, the upcoming Sundance Channel documentary series “Nimrod Nation” and “I Am An American Soldier: One Year in Iraq with the 101st Airborne”. Another festival highlight was the presentation of Francisco Lombardi’s Mariposa Negra (Black Butterfly)
The festival came to a close on Sunday and it was a total success. The organization had to add 850-seats and yet that did not stop shows from selling out. To complement theatre screenings, every night, audiences estimated at 7,000 to 10,000 turned out for a free outdoor screening of blockbusters like “E.T.” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”

For two weeks each summer, the city of Jerusalem takes a break of its complex daily reality to be transported into the magic of cinema during the Jerusalem International Film Festival.
The Jerusalem Cinematheque, the heart and soul of the ten-day festival, is situated on the slopes of a valley beneath the Old City walls, within earshot of the muezzin, the Muslim call to prayer, church bells and the intonations of Orthodox Jews at the Western Wall. This unique fusion of sounds and images is reflected in the eclectic selection of films screened during the festival and in the diversity of guests it attracts.
This year the festival organizers invited Peruvian director Francisco Lombardi to present his film, “Mariposa Negra”, at the 24th edition of the event, to take place from July 5 to 14.
For the duration of the festival, Jerusalem is transformed into an island of cultural discourse as visitors from all over the world celebrate the best of international film. In addition to screening over two hundred films in five central venues around the city, the festival also hosts live musical events, dance performances, discussions, workshops, al fresco receptions and gala dinners.
